Deirdre Redmond EDH
Dental Hygienist
A native of County Kildare, Ireland, Dee first came to England in 1989 where she later trained and qualified as a Dental Hygienist with commendation in Guy's Dental Hospital. She spent five years in Harley Street and in 2002 joined a specialist practice in Thayer Street in the West End.
Dee is a highly trained dental hygienist with a special interest in looking after patients with complex restorative and implant treatment. Over the last four years, she has worked closely with Dr Joe Bhat (Specialist in Implantology) and his implant patients at the Moor Park Specialist Dental Centre. All of Dr Bhat's implant patients undergo both pre and post operative hygiene visits which has shown a greatly increased implant success.

Dental Hygienist
More recently, her availability at the Specialist Centre has increased from one day to three days (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). This has enabled greater interaction with the Specialist in Periodontics (Specialist in the management of gum disease) which has broadened her knowledge and clinical acumen in managing gum disease. Her meticulous approach in recording, then monitoring gum conditions, allows appropriate referrals, if required, within the specialist network at Moor Park.
Careful analysis of the appointment duration for hygiene visits has shown that better care can be provided in maintaining gum health with a 45 minute appointment rather than the standard 30 minutes. It also gives adequate time for maintaining strict cross infection control.
Dee also undertakes hygiene treatment using local anaesthetic, if required, and fissure sealants on children's teeth.
